How to LIMIT WiFi Speed for Others? | Manage Bandwidth

limit wifi speed_my

You can easily limit WiFi speed for others if you are hampered by the slower speed of your Wi-Fi.

Here, we are about to tell how you can control bandwidth for other clients in any wireless routers (like [Digisol], [TP-Link], [iBall], [D-Link], [Tenda], etc).

In some cases, different causes like server ping loss(timed out), connector issue, the distance between your device and router may slow the speed of your internet connection.

It does not matter if you are using Windows 10 or Windows 7, some bandwidth manager software and Android apps can help you to set the cap on internet speed.

The clients of WiFi dependably proceed with their download throughout the day and night thus even your browsing speed rate performs slower than normal.

How to get Maximum speed when multiple users are connected?

If your router has multiple users connected to it then definitely the speed will go slow. So, if you see that the speed you are getting is far beyond your actual internet bandwidth then limiting the speed for others is the only way.

Now, in this context, it is well defined that how can you limit wifi speed for others and increase your internet speed in this way.

Note that to get the maximum speed you need to limit the speed others to a minimum.

The best part.

You can set the internet speed to zero for a long time as you wish or for a limited period of time. This helps you get the fullest bandwidth speed without disconnecting the other users from the network.

What is a good WiFi Speed?

If you are confused about the speed limit to set that can be actually helpful to open any webpage with ease then the good and average speed is 10MBPS bandwidth.

Note that, 1 MBPS bandwidth is also enough and the minimum bandwidth you can set to open any page quickly, but for 1080p videos that buffer a bit, but works well.

So, if you have a huge bandwidth plan set a limit to 10-15 MBPS but for lower bandwidth package it is enough to go with 1 MBPS plan to browse the internet fast.

Is there any bandwidth manager software?...

You have many apps available that control the bandwidth of the network. Some apps are available for free on Windows, can handle the data usage and bandwidth speed both.

Bandwidth-limit in any router works in some steps:-

Primary Steps >>
  •  Login to your Router.
  •  Collect IP from active client table.
  •  Go to Bandwidth Settings.
  •  Input value: IP, Bandwidth limit.
  •  Save Settings.
Here,  I will show you the simplest way to set the cap to a particular device using router settings.

Hiding the name of your wireless network is the quickest way to protect your WiFi speed but this does not control their download speed. There are many bandwidth manager software available to manage network bandwidth.

But, here we are going to explain how you can limit WiFi speed on your Router without using any bandwidth capping software for some particular clients who are always connected to your network.

The Fact is.

This is an IP based bandwidth control system on Router. For different customers of this WiFi system, will be set to an altered speed rate and rest speed or bandwidth will not be usable for that person. But, you can use the full bandwidth without any speed issue. However, the person can affect the bandwidth-limit dedicated to him.

Benefits of limiting Data Speed on WiFi

If you set a data transfer capacity cutoff to those individuals who always download day and night, then you can see an expansion in your perusing and download speed.

But, there is a catch...

Note: Ensure what limit you have settled for them is separated from your limit. Assume your plan is 2MBPS and 500 kbps is set to your friend. However, to you, don’t set any limit for yourself. Now,  other users bandwidth or internet speed is going to be influenced by you as you have controlled it from router system.

Along these lines, it is ideal to set 1.5 MBPS limit for yourself before setting up bandwidth-control. This helps other users to use the bandwidth you have set for them.
