Some of the apps on my mobile was consuming huge data from the limited data pack and I was wondering on the settings where I could stop those particular apps from syncing the behind the scene data.
I found it very strange that it was possible to restrict the data completely but the settings could not limit the usage for a particular app. Basically means, you have to turn off the background sync if data saving is needed.
To limit the data usage for some apps, you have to go to Settings >> Apps. Now, from there look for the options of ‘Background apps’ and turn off the data usage by sliding the button to the left.
But, the problem is you would not get auto-updates on those apps if you completely turn off the data.
I recommend not to turn off the whole rather follow the guide that I will show in this content and implement the speed increasing ways.
As you know you can set data usage for devices but for particular apps to do so, just install an app from the play store.
I always use that app to control over those existing apps by not turning the background sync off and this app is able to manage my data very well for a long period of time. You have to set up that to work in such a way and that you will learn in this context.

i) Customize Gmail Settings for Data usage
If you are logged in with multiple Google accounts on your mobile, in those accounts data will continuously run on the background to check for emails.
The system is, frequently after a few moments you will get new updates of email every time and most of the time those are unnecessary.
All you have to do just extend the refresh time of Gmail account to reduce at the most maximum time frame.
You have to set the priority to low and turn off the automatic downloads of images on emails.
ii) Add Fewer accounts on your Mobile
If you are adding multiple accounts on your mobile then data users will be more. That is why it is suggested that you take only those important accounts on your mobile so that other usages can be lower and only for significant purposes.
This applies for all types of account either it is Gmail, classroom, your Chrome or Google search.
I have seen personally that when I have removed all of my unwanted accounts from my mobile the Google drive files that were taking downloads automatically for offline availability has been stopped and I was able to reduce my data instantly.
iii) Turn off the desktop notification
Did you ever enable online notification for any websites or YouTube? If you have turned on the notification then your Chrome browser will automatically use your mobile data to show the notification on your browser.
So it is suggested that you turn off the all of cookies for websites that you have allowed online notification for and you will notice a significant change on your data usage, will be reduced after this setup is done and also turn off all the notification that you have turned on for other platforms on the other browsers.

So let’s enable the battery saver on your mobile and lets run the apps and you will get notified on apps to turn off when there is too many data usage for that app.
Types of Apps that Consume Huge Data
Premium apps always consume fewer data as such apps don’t load ads inside it. You’ll see two types of apps, one takes background data to show you updates and another one just start on your tap.
By default, your mobile is set to such settings that force it to consume data automatically. All you have to do is to take charge of these settings and change it accordingly with your data plan.
Some apps are considered to take data usage most. Like Gmail, YouTube, Facebook and other social media apps consume a huge data, especially whenever your saved contacts send you videos on WhatsApp, those get automatically downloaded and a lot of data in this process is wasted.
Yes, you have the way to control this unusual usage of data just by taking some simple steps and I completed 6 actions that made my data usage totally in control whenever I am connected to my limited mobile data.
Taking Action on Apps that are not Necessary
Find out those apps that worth nothing but still using the background data. These are the apps that should be in your delete-list for the first removal.
Now, don’t remove as a novice, follow the steps:
1. Just find the apps rather than the apps we have mentioned as necessary from your background or running apps list.
2. Then check the running time and data usage, find out that one which has the significant usage of data.
[Remember: Some apps are necessary and deleting those ones you may lose a few features from your phone.]
3. Now remove the apps from your mobile, if some apps are the default for your phone and you can’t remove then you can disable that from the app details.
For an alternative to this you can monitor the data with your mobile data usage settings also can try the data management tools.
