Your Quick Answer:
You can see the viewers of the videos that you post on your Instagram by looking at certain activities by others. On Instagram, it displays a list of people who have liked the video. Furthermore, the total number of views of a video is displayed right below it.
Even though you won’t be able to see all the names of the viewers of an Instagram video, you will be able to view the list of people who have liked the video or commented on it, which is an indirect way of getting to know some of the viewers of the video.
Besides, viewers of the videos that are posted on Instagram stories can be seen by the user. But it will be restricted to some of the viewers and not the whole list.
However, when the story is limited to Close Friends, the user can see all the names of the viewers.
You can follow simple steps in order to hide posts from someone on Instagram.
There are some reasons why you can’t see who viewed your Instagram video.
How To See Who Watched Your Instagram Video:
There are some indirect ways that you can use to see who viewed your Instagram videos.
You can get detailed information from the below methods:
1. From the Reactions
After you’ve posted a video on your Instagram feed, you’ll be able to see the names of the users who liked it and the total number of views it got.
Just below the video, you’ll be able to see the different options of like, comment and share, and below that, it will show the number of users that have watched the video (i.e total number of views). But you won’t be able to see the names of the users who have viewed the video.
Just next to the total number of views, it will display one or two names of the total name list who have liked that video. You need to click on Liked by to view the broadened list of people who have liked that video.
This list of likes will indirectly help you to find some of the viewers of the video who have liked it too.
You’ll be able to see the list of people who have liked the video by following the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Open the Instagram application on your device.
Step 2: Get into your profile or head on to the video whose viewers and likes you want to check.
Step 3: Just under the video, you’ll be able to see the total number of views. For example views: 9.

Step 4: Besides the number of views, you’ll be able to see the Liked by label with a few names displayed with it.

Step 5: Click on the Liked by label and it will open up the list of people who have liked the video.

Step 6: On the top of the list, again you’ll be able to see the total views and then there’s the list containing the names of the profiles who have liked the video.
You can even search for a particular profile on the search box to check if that person has liked the video or not.
How to See who Viewed the Story Video:
On Instagram, after uploading a video on your story, you’ll be able to view the names of some of the viewers who have viewed your video story. Unlike posted videos, the names of the viewers of a video that’s put on a story are visible.
The names of the viewers of a video that is uploaded on a story can be visible from the viewers’ list. The viewers’ list can be viewed by clicking on the number of viewers under your story screen.
However, you can only view the list of viewers when the story is still alive and hasn’t been completed for twenty-four hours. But after the story will complete within twenty-four hours and will expire, you’ll no longer be able to see the viewers of that particular story.
You’ll be able to see the list of people who viewed the video that you’ve posted on your Instagram story, by following the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Open the Instagram application on your mobile.
Step 2: Now on the homepage of the app, you’ll be able to see your profile picture at the top left corner of the screen. Tap on it to open your video story.

Step 3: Under the story, you’ll be able to see the number of views it has got, for example, Seen by 11.

Step 4: You need to tap on the number of views to see the total list of viewers.

As soon as you tap on the number of views, you’ll be able to find all the names of the viewers you have seen in that video story.
🔯 Viewers on Posted Videos vs Story Videos:
The names of the viewers of the videos that are posted by Instagram users can’t be viewed directly. Although you’ll be able to see the total number of viewers under the posted video, the names won’t be visible. However, you’ll be able to see the list of users who have liked your posted video.
From that list of likes, you’ll be indirectly able to know some of the names of the viewers of that video who have liked it too, but there’s no possible way for you to see all the names of the viewers of a video that’s posted on your Instagram feed.
The viewers of the videos that are uploaded on stories can be seen. However, you can only see all the names of the story viewers only when they’re set to be viewed by Close Friends. Under the story, there’s Seen by a label that displays the total number of views your story has got. On clicking the Seen by the label you’ll be able to see the viewers of that story.
The viewers of the story are only visible while the story is live. You won’t be able to view it after the story expires. Unlikely, the number of viewers, in the case of the videos that are posted in the feed, can be viewed anytime after posting it.
🏷 Make Story Visible to Friends:
Instagram lets its users decide the audience of its story. If you’re willing to make your story visible to only a few of your followers, you need to set them as Close Friends from the Privacy section of the app.
You can limit the audience of the story that you upload on your Instagram by making it available to your Close Friends only.
If you want to post a secret story and don’t want it to be viewed by unwanted people, you can do it by selecting the audience of it as Close Friends.
You’ll be able to view all the names of the viewers when you set the audience to Close Friends. As you’ve already limited the story’s viewers, the users who would be able to view it are only those who are marked as Close Friends and none else.
The steps to make your story visible to Close Friends are mentioned below:
Step 1: Open the Instagram application.
Step 2: On the bottom left of the screen, you’ll find the profile picture icon. Tap on it.

Step 3: It will take you to your profile page, where you’ll find the icon sighted as three horizontal lines on the top right of the screen. Click on it.

Step 4: It will display with a list of options from where you need to tap & select Settings.

Step 5: On the Settings page, tap on Privacy.

Step 6: Next, scroll down to find the option Story and just tap on it.

Step 7: You’ll be able to see the option Close Friends. Under that click on 0 people and tick mark the circle box next to the followers with whom you want to set Close Friends.

Step 8: Next, click on Done.
Now, while uploading a story, tap on the Close Friends option to make it visible only to your Close Friends.
