But with a recent update, this option seems to have vanished. The good news is that it hasn’t disappeared entirely and it’s just been moved to a different location. Your archived posts and stories are still there but you just need to find them in a new way.

Why Are Some Of My Archive Stories Missing On Instagram:

The following reasons can be the root cause of archive stories going missing:

1. May Have Deleted His Story Archive

There is an option of deleting the story archive by long pressing on the stories that are to be deleted permanently.

May Have Deleted His Story Archive

Once deleted permanently, then will not be able to see the story again. This could be the reason for the story archive to disappear. However, the archive is deleted after 30 days.

2. The Post you Archived is Private

When a user posts a story, there are two options available. If you click your story option, then the story of the user can be viewed by the followers and the public. However, when a user posts a story in the close friend option, only selected people whom the user has selected can view their story.

If you are not on the user’s close friend list, you will not be able to see their stories.

However, if someone’s post that you archived is turned Private then you can’t view them again in the archived section.

3. Bug in the App or Server Error

Bugs in the Instagram app or an error in the Instagram server are the second most reported cause for the application not working smoothly and creating problems.  Bugs are the viruses and junk that create misfunctioning in the app which is why your archived stories are also not showing up properly.
